  • Where can an independent celebrant wedding be held?

Once a couple is legally married in Italy or back home at the registry office, the wedding ceremony can be held anywhere. This means a couple can be married in a spectacular location of their choice. Some venues in Italy that we have worked with can arrange for a legal civil marriage license to take place at the same time.

We will come to the venue of your choice, but if you are still looking, we can quite happily recommend the following based on our experience:

Palazzo Farrattini – Amelia, Umbria

Castello Ruspoli – Vignanello, Lazio

Villa Cimbrone – Ravello, Amalfi Coast

  • What training do Passaggi independent wedding celebrants have?

Passaggi celebrants have attended an intensive residential course in the UK and have gained a certificate from the Fellowship of Independent Celebrants (FOIC).

  • What kind of couples would contact an independent wedding celebrant?

There are many different couples who may choose a wedding celebrant. They may be a couple who have got married abroad and want to renew their vows in a beautiful Italian location. They may be a same-sex couple who have contracted a civil union or marriage and would like to have the wedding of their dreams. They may be a couple who have been married for a certain number of years and want to retake their vows. Finally, they may be a couple looking for a ceremony that celebrates their decision to get married in an upbeat, fun, personalised and original way.

  • Is the independent celebrant an alternative to a Wedding Planner?

No, the celebrant is not an alternative to a Wedding Planner. A couple from abroad who want to get married legally in Italy will need to work with a Wedding Planner in order to deal with the bureaucracy and all the other details. For a couple already legally married in Italy the celebrant can hold a ceremony independently of a Wedding Planner.
